TRIP OVERVIEW
Take Off With Us on our first trip of 2024, as we explore two of Colombia's beautiful coastal cities; Cartagena and Santa Marta! [OPTIONAL - trip add on]. In Cartagena we'll explore the rich history of Cartagena's Old Town, visit the first free black town in the Americas, take a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean sea and party the night away amidst Cartagena's bustling party scene! [OPTIONAL - trip add on] In Santa Marta, we'll go off the beaten path to discover some of nature's masterpieces. We will hike through lush jungles, explore a sprawling coffee farm, discover hidden waterfalls and frolic in magnificent white-sand beaches bordered by the lush mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Maria Range. This trip has something for everyone - it's the perfect blend of turn up, adventure, culture and relaxation!

ITINERARY
SANTA MARTA: DAY 1 - WELCOME TO SANTA MARTA!
[**For travellers participating in the optional Santa Marta portion of the trip**]
Arrive at Simon Bolivar International Airport (SMR), where transportation will be waiting to whisk you away to your hotel. After settling in, we'll take a stroll to explore the historic center where we will take in some views and then grab a bite to eat at a local seafood restaurant. The night is young, and Calle 19 is the perfect place to grab a drink and enjoy Santa Marta's nightlife. If we're lucky we'll catch a performance by one of the many local street artists!

SANTA MARTA: DAY 2 - HIKE LIFE x BEACH LIFE!
[**For travellers participating in the optional Santa Marta portion of the trip**]
In the morning we depart for Tayrona National Park to see what 'Hike Life' is all about - as we spend the morning exploring nature and hiking the park's trails. Later in the afternoon, we get rewarded for all of our hard work - with relaxation, powdery sand, and blue waters, as we soak up some sun on two of Santa Marta's most beautiful beaches: Playa Cinto and Playa Cristal.

SANTA MARTA: DAY 3 - MADE IN COLOMBIA!
[**For travellers participating in the optional Santa Marta portion of the trip**]
Today we travel into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta to visit the small town of Minca. Here we will explore mountain streams, waterfalls, natural swimming pools and learn about two of Colombia's signature products; Chocolate and Coffee!

Afterwards we head back to the hotel and you're free to explore Santa Marta on your own.

Santa Marta: DAY 4/ Cartagena: DAY 1 - ADIOS SANTA MARTA! BIENVENIDOS A CARTAGENA!
If time permits, we will get in alignment with an early morning Yoga class, before heading to Cartagena to meet up with the rest of the crew and start the next part of the trip!

Cartagena: DAY 1 - BIENVENIDOS A CARTAGENA!
Welcome to Cartagena! You'll arrive at Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG), where transportation will be waiting to and take you to your accommodations in Cartagena. After you get settled into your new digs, we’ll introduce you to the rest of the TOWT crew; an intimate group of individuals from all over the world ready to experience Cartagena’s culture and history. Later that evening, we’ll all head to our welcome dinner and kick off our new journey together.

Cartagena: DAY 2 - LIFE'S A BEACH!
Bring your bathing suits and shades because today is all about the beach babeeee! We’ll be hopping on a boat and heading to Isla del Rosario, one of Colombia's most spectacular beaches to enjoy some fun in the sun! Dranks + Tunes + Crystal Clear Water + Sunshine = Vacation Bliss!

Cartagena: DAY 3 - BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL!
Today, we’ll embark on a 'Freedom Tour', as we journey to San Basilio de Palenque - a town established by runaway African slaves. As, the first free black town in all of the Americas, you are in for a history lesson you won’t get in any textbook! Here, we’ll learn about their African-rooted, culture, customs and beliefs.
​
Tonight we hit the town, on an epic bar crawl through Cartagena, followed by Salsa lessons - where we'll dance the night away! Because what goes better with drinks, than dancing?!

Cartagena: DAY 4 - TIME TO GET DOWN & DIRTY!
Today kicks off bright and early as we head out of Cartagena to become one with nature. Just a short distance outside of the city, we'll visit the Totumo Mud Volcano and purify ourselves in the mud baths, known to have your skin feeling brand new. We'll have lunch and head back into the city.

In the evening, you'll have time to explore Cartagena at your leisure.

Cartagena: DAY 5 - CARTAGENA & CHILL
Now that you’ve got your feet wet in Cartagena, today’s the perfect opportunity to explore the city on your own. Get to know your new travel crew, work on your tan at the beach, check out that cool spot you saw on Tik Tok, pop into an art gallery or catch up on some sleep! Today is your day to do as you please.

The day belongs to you but the night is ours, we'll spend our last evening in the city aboard a catamaran watching the sunset on Cartagena's skyline.

Cartagena: DAY 6 - IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOOD BYE!
We know, it feels like the trip just started, but it’s time to say farewell to Colombia. Use today to do any last minute souvenir shopping, or stop by your favorite restaurant one last time before it’s time to head home! The time may have flown by, but the memories and connections you've made will last forever. Or at least until the next TOWT Trip!

TRIP CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Trip Cancellation & Customer Refund Policy

All bookings are subject to approval.
If you are approved and cannot attend, you can cancel by December 31st and be refunded all money minus non-refundable deposit and any transaction fees.
All prices are listed for individual booking. Each registrant will need to apply individually.
All payments are subject to platform processing fees of 3% per transaction.
If vaccines are required to enter Colombia at the time of the trip, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary vaccines. No refunds will be given if you fail to obtain the required vaccines and you are not allowed to enter Colombia.
If you are required to quarantine while on the trip, you are responsible to pay for your own separate accommodations.
You must have a Passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of travel. Refunds will not be given for invalid/expired passports.
Refunds will not be given to travellers who fail to obtain the necessary travel documents for entry into Colombia.
