​DAY 1: AKWAABA!! WELCOME TO THE MOTHERLAND

Arrive in Ghana! You’ll be picked up from Kotoka International Airport after your arrival into the Motherland and taken to your hotel accommodation in one of Accra’s premier neighborhoods. Get settled into your hotel room and freshen up, relax, grab a bite to eat or meet the rest of the crew. The choice is yours - you've earned it after all dem hours of traveling!

DAY 2: FASHION TIME x WELCOME DINNER

We will have a custom clothing experience where we connect with a local Ghanaian tailor and fashion expert. She will offer design consultation for custom orders, textile sourcing, fittings and have items available for purchase. (Maybe you’ll find the perfect fit for the Welcome Dinner!!)

Later that evening we get dressed up for our Welcome Dinner, where we’ll share an intimate meal as a group at one of Accra's premiere restaurants.

Afterwards, those of us who can still hang will hit the town in search of the infamous Ghana party vibes we've heard so much about!

DAY 3: CULTURE, CULTURE, CULTURE

Today we become fully immersed in Ghanian culture….and what better ways to become immersed in a country’s culture than through history, food and art?! (I’ll wait….)

​

In the morning we’ll join a local artisan for an African tie-dye class and design our own fabric. Twist, dip, and dye our way into a one-of-a-kind souvenir while learning the meaning behind traditional patterns.

Next up, we dive into a guided food tour where we will discover hidden gems, meet local vendors, and experience the heart of Ghanaian cuisine one bite at a time. And who knows...maybe we'll be able to answer the long-debated question in African cultures; Who has the best Jollof Rice? Lol

We end our day with a formal introduction to the bustling city of Accra, as we embark on an Accra City Tour. Our city tour will take us to famous landmarks where we’ll learn about the historical beginnings of Ghana as an independent country.

DAY 4: SANKOFA - TO RETURN AND GET IT

This journey marks our official return home to where they said we’d never return. We’ll celebrate with a transformative visit to Cape Coast Castle.

​

​This part of the trip will be powerful and emotional for many. Our expert guide will show us around the ‘castles’ sharing crucial stories of our ancestral past. As we walk through the Male and Female dungeons and witness the cramped living conditions, you will gain a powerful understanding of the atrocities committed against our ancestors. This visit culminates with the hauntingly infamous “Door of No Return,” which enslaved Africans passed through before being shipped to the New World.

​Although this journey can be difficult, it is an essential step in reconnecting with our past and honoring our ancestors.

​

​Afterwards we will journey to a Ghanaian village where will have a meet & greet with the Chief and respected elders. Once here we will partake in a traditional naming ceremony, embracing our African ties by receiving Ghanaian names. It will be a meaningful day of connection, as we celebrate our return to the Motherland while intertwining culture, unity & heritage.

DAY 5: BEACH CLUB & MARKET VIBES

After our journey back to Accra from Cape Coast, we’ll ease into a laid-back afternoon. Think sun on your skin, sand between your toes, and ocean waves setting the vibe at a beach club—complete with good music, great food, and ice-cold drinks. A perfect taste of Ghana’s lively beach culture.

Later, we switch gears and dive into souvenir shopping at Makola Market, the city’s biggest and busiest market—bring your bargaining A-game.

​

​The night is yours to do as you wish.

DAY 6: SETTING SAIL!

Today we hop on a boat in Akosombo and cruise along massive Lake Volta, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. Expect smooth sailing, scenic views, and plenty of moments to jump in for a swim or just lounge with the music up and drinks in hand!

DAY 7: DO YOU! (RECOUP, RECOVER, WHOOSA, DO WHATEVER YOU WANT)

Today is an entirely free day to explore Ghana! Now that you’ve gotten your feet wet in Accra, today’s the perfect opportunity to discover some of the things that make the city so great. Get to know some of your new travel companions, hit up a restaurant in Osu, grab a drink at a rooftop bar, pop into one of the markets, or get your hair braided, sis! The choice is yours….DO YOU!

DAY 8: IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE

We know, it feels like you just got here, but it’s time to say goodbye. Use today to check off those final items on your list and to do any last minute souvenir shopping before it’s time to head home.
