Travelling from Lisbon to Marrakech, immerse yourself in the history of each destination, exploring ancient cultures through art, design, language and religion, all while trying local delicacies along the way. From Lisbon's winding cobblestone streets and skyline dotted with Medieval castles, to the fascinating Islamic architecture in Marrakech, you’ll experience a collision of old and new, European and African!

Your gateway to our African and European Summer Adventure, is through Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS).
To capitalize on early bird rates and secure your desired travel itinerary, we suggest booking flights roughly 3-5 months ahead of your departure date.
International Flights:
Book round-trip flights to Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) and plan to arrive by 3:00 p.m. local time on August 2, 2025.
Plan to depart Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) after 12:00 p.m.* on August 10, 2025 , 2024.
*Be sure to have your Short Haul International Flight picked out prior to booking your return flight back home - See below section for recommended Short Haul Flights.
Short haul International flights will be needed for multiple portions of the trip.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Welcome to Portugal
Ola! Welcome to Portugal! After being picked up from Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), you’ll be taken to your accommodations in one of Portugal’s trendy neighborhoods. Get settled into your hotel room and freshen up, grab a bite to eat, meet the rest of the TOWT crew, or just catch up on some sleep.
Later that evening, we toast to the end of the day aboard a lively boat, as we sail along the Tagus River. Unwind from a day of traveling by sipping a refreshing drink and dancing to the cityscape in the background. As the music fills the air, you'll pass by some of the city's iconic landmarks, while being captivated by the stunning sunset over the Rio Tejo.
The night is young, we’ll continue the vibes ending up on someone’s rooftop or in a bashment somewhere!

DAY 2: Soulful Sunday!
Today we explore Lisbon via a black lens!
After a leisurely morning, we head to the outskirts of Lisbon to a black owned Jazz Lounge for a Soul Food and R&B Brunch…..yes you read that right! Soulfood and R&B in Portugal! This weekly brunch is crafted by a skilled chef with years of culinary experience and a deep passion for crafting flavorful soulfood dishes. We’ll dine on classic soul food brunch dishes while grooving to some classic 90’s throwbacks.
Next up on our Black AF Day - an African Lisbon Tour. The tour aims to educate people on African history & contributions in Portugal, particularly in Lisbon. It offers a nuanced, holistic, and critical view on some of Lisbon's most touristic monuments and places, giving them a backstory not many tourists would typically be (made) aware of, showing the other side of the “Age of Exploration” and Portugal's colonial past.
During the tour we will also learn about the African diaspora’s presence in Portugal today, and hit up a few black owned businesses.

DAY 3: Picture Me Rollin!
Make sure you have your Wheaties for breakfast, because today we take on Lisbon’s 7 hills!! We’ll *cycle through Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods and climb to the most beautiful viewpoints in the city via e-bike. (Pedal assist equipped bikes y’all….don’t worry). We’ll cruise through tiny streets that are only passable by bike, and ride through famous Lisbon spots, including the historic district of Alfama. Spot Sao Jorge Castle (Castelo de Sao Jorge), a Moorish castle with beautiful views, pausing to snap photos of the landmark fortress and take in scenic views of the neighborhoods below us.
As a reward for surviving the bicycle tour - Dinner is on us! Tonight we get dressed up and hit the town for our TOWT Welcome Dinner.

DAY 4: Something out of a Fairy Tale!
We’re up early this morning, as we head to the UNESCO-listed town of Sintra. The town is best known for its castles, fairy tale palaces, elaborate gardens and the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. In Sintra, we’ll stroll through the picturesque streets and marvel at the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira, with their mysterious gardens and hidden caves. Today might be the day for your “outfit” of the trip!

DAY 5: DO YOU!
Today is a free day to do as you wish! This is when those hours of social media research finally pay off!
You can use this time to hit up all those must see spots on your list. Or maybe you’ll decide to shop til you drop….The day is yours to explore Lisbon on your own. But whatever you decide, don’t hang out too late - we have a flight to catch in the morning!

DAY 6: Welcome to Morocco!
A short flight from Lisbon will take us to the "Land of the Sunset", Morocco. Be prepared to hit the ground running today! After dropping our bags at our accommodations in Marrakech, we’ll head out to explore Marrakech's rich history and culture as we embark on a guided tour. With our first stop at the main square – Djemaa el-Fna. The square is filled with a hive of activity. From Henna painters, to performers, to storytellers and a street food bazaar packed with stalls loaded with Moroccan delicacies. Afterwards we’ll continue on to visit some of Marrakech’s popular sites and see landmarks that symbolize the history and culture of the city, from past to present.
As the evening sets in, we’ll pop onto a rooftop restaurant to welcome the sunset.

DAY 7: Ruff Ryders!
QUAD BIKES, CAMELS, AND DINNER...OH MY!! Time to get down and dirty in the Moroccan Desert. Today we head out to the desert to ride quad bikes and camels. As the sunsets we will enjoy dinner and a show.
(Note: Wear comfortable clothes for this excursion and keep in mind the desert will be dusty!)
Adventurous days turn to adventurous nights, as we spend the night partying at one of Marrakech’s trendy nightclubs.

DAY 8: Zen Out
Today is a free day to explore Marrakesh on your own. But don’t hang out too late, we have a flight to catch in the morning!
You can choose to turn things all the way down and enjoy a relaxing day at a Moroccan Hamman*. (A hammam is a traditional bathhouse. They typically have multiple rooms with pools of varying temperatures and a hot steam room. They also offer spa treatments.) Or you can choose to turn things all the way up by hitting up one of Marrakech’s luxurious beach clubs*.
*Hamman and Beach Club are optional activities and not included in the price of the trip.
DAY 9: Farewell
Farewell Morocco. In the morning we fly back to Lisbon to catch our flights back home.
We know, it feels like you just got here, but it’s time to say goodbye…until the next TOWT adventure!

TRIP CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
All bookings are subject to approval.
If you are approved and cannot attend, you can cancel by April 15th and be refunded all money minus non-refundable deposit and any transaction fees.
All prices are listed for individual booking. Each registrant will need to apply individually.
All payments are subject to platform processing fees of 3% per transaction.
You must have a Passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of travel. Refunds will not be given for invalid/expired passports.
Refunds will not be given to travellers who fail to obtain the necessary travel documents for entry into Portugal and/or Morocco.
