From the bustling streets of Stone Town, where African, Arab and Indian cultures meet, to the white-sand beaches perfect for relaxing or taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, to the aromatic scents of the local Spice Farms, and the connections you’ll make with the warm, welcoming locals. Zanzibar has it all!
To complete our East African adventure, we’ll combine the island’s tropical allure with its wild beauty, as we embark on a Safari to a National Park. [**OPTIONAL** – Safari trip add on] We’ll visit one of Africa’s largest and most unspoiled wildlife reserves. Here, we will enjoy a thrilling safari to spot elephants, lions, hippos and more in their natural habitat, along with a boat safari along the Rufiji River.

PAYMENTS & PAYMENT PLANS
All payments to Take Off With Tiff are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because Take Off With Tiff has contractual agreements with hotels, and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds. This way we can keep our package prices low and allow you to make monthly payments on your vacation.
Should you opt-in to our payment plan program, your invoice will clearly note your due dates and amount. We suggest you put this payment plan on your personal calendar.

A $50 late fee will be applied to all payments made after the 3-day grace period. Your trip is subject to cancellation after two missed payments.

Notes:
Traveling abroad requires a passport valid for six months beyond your travel dates. You must have a valid passport with an expiration date no SOONER than December 5, 2025.

U.S. passport holders require a visa to enter Zanzibar, Tanzania. If you are not a US Passport holder, please check for the requirements for your specific passport. (Visas can be acquired at the airport upon arrival)

To capitalize on early bird rates and secure your desired travel itinerary, we suggest booking flights roughly 3-5 months ahead of your departure date.

Safari: Day 1 ( May 26th) Welcome to Zanzibar!

Karibu Zanzibar! After a longgggg day of traveling, arrive in Zanzibar! After being picked up from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) in Zanzibar, Tanzania, you’ll be taken to your accommodations in Stone Town. Get settled into your hotel room and freshen up, grab a bite to eat, meet the rest of the TOWT crew, or just catch up on some sleep. Today is all about settling, finding your bearings, and gearing up for what is sure to be an amazing trip!

Safari: Day 2 (May 27th) Lions, Tigers and Giraffes...Oh My!!
[**For travelers participating in the optional Safari portion of the trip**]
We have an early start to our adventurous day! We head back to the airport to board a short domestic flight to nearby Nyere National Park for an African safari. The first day of the safari we will hop into a 4x4 Jeep for a game drive. This provides the chance for an up-close look at magnificent wildlife, including zebras, lions, elephants, giraffes, and more, in their natural habitat.
After a day of exploring, settle into your accommodations at the National Park and prepare for an early start tomorrow.

Safari: Day 3/Zanzibar: Day 1 (May 28th) Goodbye Safari! Hello Zanzibar!
We start out bright and early in the morning, as we continue to explore the National Park. This time we embark on a boat safari, as we cruise along the Rufiji River in search of wildlife and birdlife. Next, we will visit a local village and have a chance to interact with a local tribe and get a glimpse into their culture, unique way of life and see first-hand some of their customs and practices.​
​
After what is sure to be a culturally enriching day, we head back to the airport for the short flight back to Zanzibar to meet up with the rest of the crew and start the next part of the trip!
​
Once back in Zanzibar, you’ll check into our hotel in Stone Town to freshen up before venturing out to visit the vibrant Forodhani Night Food Market for dinner. It's the perfect place to let your taste buds explore and discover new flavors. From Zanzibari pizza to sugarcane juice, the options are endless!

Zanzibar: Day 2 (May 29th) Well Hello Stone Town!
Good Morning Stone Town! Today we will begin our formal introduction to Stone Town via boat. The first stop will be to Prison Island. This Island was formerly owned by Arabian slave owners and used as a prison for rebel slaves from the 1860’s until the end of the slave trade. Today the island is a sanctuary for Gigantic Tortoises, Dik diks, Peacocks and Mangrove forests. ​​
​
Afterwards, it’s Safari time again! This time we board a traditional dhow boat and embark on the Safari Blue Tour. First up, we stop at a sandbank for some snacks and fun in the sun! Next, we sail over to the Menai Bay conservation area for swimming, snorkeling and a Swahili influenced seafood buffet.

Ok, now we take our talents back to land! On our next stop of the day, you'll learn why the Island of Zanzibar is referred to as “Spice Island”, as we tour a local Spice Farm. At the farm you will learn about the tropical fruits, spices and rare species of plants that grow in Zanzibar.

Zanzibar: Day 3 (May 30th) Paying it Forward
We start our day by paying it forward and giving back to those in need. In the morning we’ll be visiting a local orphanage to spend time with the children and provide much-needed resources.

The rest of the day you are free to relax and enjoy Stone Town at your own pace. (You’ll have the option to join a Stone Town walking tour to visit popular sites, such as the slave market and the historical old fort)
​
Later that evening, we get ready for our (themed) TOWT Welcome Dinner!

Zanzibar: Day 4 (May 31st ) Row, Row, Row Your Boat!
Today we embark on a local sailing experience, as we venture to the East Coast of Zanzibar. This experience will allow us a firsthand look at the local sailing and fishing environments in Zanzibar. We will have the chance to cast our nets and try our hands at fishing like a local, search for colorful star fish and even witness local women seaweed farming. (80% of the seaweed farmers in Tanzania are women).

Afterwards, we will take a drive to visit a Maasai Village. Here you will have a unique opportunity to connect deeply with their local culture and traditions.

Zanzibar: Day 5 (June 1st) Where the Beaches Reside....
Take the morning to relax and enjoy your final day in Stone Town.

Later in the afternoon, we check out of our Stone Town hotel and head up north to Nungwi. It’s located at the most northern tip of Zanzibar, and it boast some of the best beaches in the world. Think beachfront resorts and palm trees!
The rest of the evening is yours to do as you wish. Use the time to rest and reset or explore the beautiful beach village on your own.

Zanzibar: Day 6 (June 2nd) Under the Sea!
This morning, we’re back on a boat! But this time, we’re going in search of dolphins!
It’s a double snorkeling experience where you will have a chance to snorkel with pod of dolphins at Matmwe Beach and then snorkel at the stunning coral reefs surrounding Mnemba Island.

In keeping with our sea animal exploration, next we head to visit a local turtle conservatory - where you'll have a chance to swim with these beautiful creatures and feed them.
​
We end the evening chasing sunsets! As we head to the infamous Kendwa Beach, for a sunset cruise around the coastline on a traditional dhow boat.
​
If you have any energy left, later that night we’ll make our way out to one of Nungwi's famous beach parties......because what's a vacation without a lil turnup!

Zanzibar: Day 7 (June 3rd) Do You!
Nungwi Free Day! Maybe start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, then relax by the pool, or enjoy the beach, maybe do some last minute souvenir shopping or indulge in a spa treatment. Whatever you decide, the day is yours to unwind and soak in the beauty of Zanzibar at your own pace.

Trip Cancellation & Customer Refund Policy

All bookings are subject to approval.

If you are approved and cannot attend, you can cancel by February 28th and be refunded all money minus non-refundable deposit and any transaction fees.

All prices are listed for individual booking. Each registrant will need to apply individually.

All payments are subject to platform processing fees of 3% per transaction.

You must have a Passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of travel. Refunds will not be given for invalid/expired passports.

Refunds will not be given to travelers who fail to obtain the necessary travel documents for entry into Tanzania.
